* A battery charger
* Jumper cables (optional)
* Safety glasses
Instructions:
1. Read the battery charger's user manual carefully. Be sure to understand all of the instructions before beginning charging.
2. Park your vehicle in a well-ventilated area. Turn off the engine and set the parking brake.
3. Open the hood of your vehicle. Locate the battery. It is usually a black or gray plastic box with two terminals, one positive (+) and one negative (-).
4. Put on your safety glasses.
5. Connect the positive (red) clamp from the battery charger to the positive (+) terminal on the battery.
6. Connect the negative (black) clamp from the battery charger to the negative (-) terminal on the battery.
7. Plug the battery charger into an electrical outlet.
8. Set the battery charger to the correct voltage. Refer to your battery's owner's manual for the correct voltage.
9. Start charging the battery. Follow the instructions provided with your battery charger. Do not leave the battery charger unattended.
10. Once the battery is charged, disconnect the battery charger from the electrical outlet.
11. Disconnect the negative (black) clamp from the battery.
12. Disconnect the positive (red) clamp from the battery.
Caution:
* Be careful not to touch the positive and negative terminals on the battery or the battery charger at the same time. This could cause a spark and/or a battery explosion.
