Shift Linkage Adjustment Procedure
1. Shift transmission into Drive with engine running.
2. Loosen the shift lever mounting bolt 6-8 turns while holding the lever in its detent. If needed use your hand/pry bar against frame or another component as additional pressure with other hand in order to push forward against lever while releasing bolt (may need the vehicle in Neutral to remove the bolt first.). This allows the lever mechanism to find its natural detent location based on transmission valve body position.
3. Tighten the mounting bolt snug.
4. Verify linkage operation through all gear selector positions while in park - check to ensure transmission engages properly in Reverse, Overdrive, 3rd/2nd/1st and Park
