Park your Ford Five Hundred in a safe location and turn off the engine.
Open the hood of your car.
Locate the battery, which is usually located on the passenger side of the engine compartment.
Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery by loosening the nut or bolt that holds it in place. Be careful not to touch the positive terminal with the wrench or any other metal object, as this could cause a short circuit.
Disconnect the positive terminal of the battery by loosening the nut or bolt that holds it in place.
Remove the old battery from the car.
Place the new battery in the car, making sure that the positive terminal is facing the positive terminal on the car and the negative terminal is facing the negative terminal on the car.
Reconnect the positive terminal of the battery by tightening the nut or bolt that holds it in place.
Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery by tightening the nut or bolt that holds it in place.
Close the hood of your car.
Start your Ford Five Hundred and check the battery gauge to make sure that the battery is charging properly.
