2004 mustang 3.9L serpentine belt bypass AC?

How to Bypass the AC Compressor on a 2004 Mustang 3.9L

1. Park the car in a safe location and turn off the engine.

2. Open the hood of the car.

3. Locate the serpentine belt. It is the long, black belt that wraps around the front of the engine.

4. There are two tensioner bolts that hold the serpentine belt in place. Loosen the top bolt until it can be slid out.

5. Remove the serpentine belt from the pulleys.

6. Locate the AC compressor. It is located on the front of the engine, next to the radiator.

7. Remove the two bolts that hold the AC compressor in place.

8. Carefully lift the AC compressor out of the engine compartment.

9. Reinstall the serpentine belt and tensioner bolt.

10. Close the hood of the car.

The AC compressor has now been bypassed. This means that the air conditioner will not work, but the engine will still be able to run. This procedure can be used as a temporary fix if the AC compressor fails or as a way to disable the AC system permanently.

Note: By bypassing the AC compressor, you will lose the ability to cool the air inside the car. This may not be a problem in cooler climates, but it can be very uncomfortable in hot climates.
