1. Retrieve Your Necessary Tools and Materials:
- New brake light bulb (check the vehicle's owner manual for the correct bulb type)
- Phillips-head screwdriver
2. Locate the Brake Light Housing:
- The high-mounted brake light is usually located at the rear top section of the vehicle, in the center.
3. Remove the Housing Cover:
- Inside the cargo compartment of the vehicle, identify the panel that covers the brake light assembly.
- Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to loosen the screws holding the panel in place.
- Carefully remove the cover to expose the brake light housing.
4. Replace the Bulb:
- Locate the faulty brake light bulb.
- Gently twist the old bulb counterclockwise to remove it.
- Insert the new bulb by twisting it clockwise until it is secure.
5. Replace the Housing Cover:
- Reattach the housing cover by replacing the screws you loosened earlier.
- Tighten the screws until the cover is secure.
6. Test the Brake Light:
- Ask someone to press the brake pedal while you observe the brake light from outside the vehicle.
- Ensure the brake light is working properly.
