2. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the back of the engine.
3. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag.
4. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission fluid reservoir.
5. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
6. If the fluid level is low, add enough transmission fluid to bring it up to the "Full" mark.
7. Replace the dipstick and close the hood of your truck.
