1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow the engine to cool down for a few minutes.
2. Open the hood of the vehicle.
3. Locate the transmission oil dipstick. It is usually located near the back of the engine, on the driver's side. The dipstick will have a yellow or orange handle.
4. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag.
5. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission until it is fully seated.
6. Pull out the dipstick again and check the oil level. The oil level should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
If the oil level is low, add transmission fluid to the transmission. Use a funnel to add the fluid, and be careful not to overfill the transmission.
7. Reinsert the dipstick and check the oil level again. Make sure that the oil level is between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
8. Replace the dipstick and close the hood of the vehicle.
