2. Open the hood.
3. Locate the oil filter on the side of the engine.
4. The location is below the exhaust manifold, near the oil change port under the car. It's a cylinder-shaped object and will have the words "Oil Filter" on the outside.
5. Place an oil drain pan under the oil filter to catch any oil that spills.
6. Use an oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter.
7. Be careful not to spill any oil.
8. Remove the oil filter and inspect the gasket for damage.
9. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
10. Screw the new oil filter onto the oil filter mount.
11. Tighten the oil filter until it is snug.
12. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
13. Check for any leaks.
14. Turn off the engine and lower the hood.
