Can you release the parking brake if cable brakes ON A 2004 AVALANCHE 1500 CHEVY?

2004 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500

Emergency Brake Release: Cable operated brakes.

1. Place the transmission selector in park (P) for automatic shift.

2. Turn ignition switch fully to lock. Insert ignition key into emergency brake release button.

3. Push button all the way in and pull up completely on emergency brake lever.

IMPORTANT

If the key and button cannot be turned, turn the steering wheel slightly back and forth until they can be turned.
