Turn the key to the "ON" position, but do not start the engine.
Find the odometer reset button, which is typically located on the instrument panel near the speedometer.
Press and hold the odometer reset button until the display reads "000000".
Turn the key to the "OFF" position.
Press and hold the odometer reset button again for 10 seconds.
Turn the key to the "ON" position.
The service engine light should now be off.
If the service engine light does not turn off, you may need to have the car's computer diagnosed to determine the cause of the problem.
