- 10mm socket
- Ratchet
- Extension
- Belt tensioner tool (available at most auto parts stores)
Instructions:
1. Locate the belt tensioner. It is usually located on the front of the engine, near the top.
2. Loosen the 10mm bolt that holds the belt tensioner in place.
3. Use the belt tensioner tool to pry the tensioner away from the belt.
4. Slide the belt off of the tensioner.
5. Inspect the belt for wear or damage. If the belt is worn or damaged, replace it.
6. Slide the new belt onto the tensioner.
7. Use the belt tensioner tool to pry the tensioner back into place.
8. Tighten the 10mm bolt that holds the belt tensioner in place.
9. Start the engine and check the belt tension. The belt should be snug, but not too tight. If the belt is too tight, it can damage the engine. If the belt is too loose, it can slip off of the pulleys.
