- New transmission fluid (check your owner's manual for the recommended type and amount)
- Funnel
- 3/8-inch drive ratchet
- 10mm socket
- 15mm socket
- Drain pan
- Rags
- Safety glasses
Instructions:
1. With the engine off and cool, locate the transmission fluid pan. It is usually located on the bottom of the transmission, but may be behind a skid plate or protective cover.
2. Place the drain pan under the transmission fluid pan.
3. Remove the 15mm bolt from the transmission fluid pan. Be careful, as the fluid may be hot.
4. Let the fluid drain completely. This may take several minutes.
5. Replace the 15mm bolt.
6. Locate the transmission fluid fill plug. It is usually located on the side of the transmission.
7. Use the funnel to add new transmission fluid until it reaches the "Full" mark on the transmission fluid dipstick.
8. Replace the transmission fluid fill plug.
9. Check the transmission fluid level after driving for a few miles. If the fluid level is low, add more until it reaches the "Full" mark on the dipstick.
