1. Open the hood of your Toyota Tundra.
2. Look at the engine from the front of the vehicle. The alternator is located on the passenger side of the engine, near the top.
3. The alternator is a cylindrical-shaped object with fins or ribs on its surface. It may have a black plastic cover over it.
4. The alternator is usually mounted with a bracket to the side of the engine. To see it, you may need to remove the black covers on the top of the engine and also remove the air cleaner.
