The fuel pump on the 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis is located inside the fuel tank.
To access the fuel pump, you will need to remove the rear seat and then the fuel tank.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable.
- Remove the rear seat.
- Remove the bolts that hold the fuel tank in place. The bolts are located along the perimeter of the fuel tank.
- Carefully lower the fuel tank.
- Disconnect the electrical connections to the fuel pump.
- Press down on the retaining ring to release the fuel pump lock ring.
- Pull the fuel pump and sending unit out of the fuel tank.
