How long does it take to remove a Chevy 350 motor from 1999 suburban?

Tools and Materials Needed:

* Wrench set

* Socket set with ratchet

* Phillips head screwdriver

* Flathead screwdriver

* pry bar

* hammer

* Drain pan

* Funnel

* New motor oil (if changing the oil filter)

Instructions:

1. Park the vehicle in a safe location. Make sure the parking brake is engaged and the engine is turned off.

2. Disconnect the battery. To do this, use a wrench to loosen the negative terminal bolt (the one marked with a "-") and remove the cable from the terminal.

3. Drain the coolant. Place a drain pan under the radiator and open the drain plug. Allow the coolant to drain into the pan.

4. Disconnect the fuel lines. To do this, use a wrench to loosen the fuel line nuts and remove the lines from the fuel tank.

5. Disconnect the electrical connections. To do this, use a screwdriver to remove the screws holding the electrical connectors in place. Then, disconnect the connectors.

6. Remove the motor mounts. To do this, use a wrench to loosen the motor mount bolts and nuts. Then, remove the motor mounts.

7. Remove the transmission bell housing bolts. Use a wrench or a socket to remove the transmission bell housing bolts.

* Remove the starter

* Remove the fan

8. Lift the engine out of the vehicle. Use an engine hoist to lift the engine out of the vehicle. Be careful not to damage the engine or any of the surrounding components.

9. Install the new engine. To do this, reverse the steps above. Be sure to use new gaskets and seals when installing the new engine.

10. Reconnect the battery. To do this, reconnect the negative terminal cable to the negative terminal and tighten the bolt.

Start the engine and check for leaks. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks from the coolant system, fuel system, or oil system. If you find any leaks, tighten the connections or replace the gaskets as needed.
