2. Identify the spark plug wires. They are numbered from 1 to 8, starting from the front of the engine on the driver's side.
3. Remove the spark plug wires from the distributor cap.
4. Locate the distributor terminals. The terminals are marked with numbers from 1 to 8, corresponding to the spark plug wire numbers.
5. Connect the spark plug wires to the distributor terminals, matching the wire numbers to the terminal numbers.
6. Replace the rotor and distributor cap.
7. Tighten the distributor hold-down bolt.
8. Start the engine and check for proper ignition timing.
