How to you change the spark plugs in a 2005 Chevy Cavalier?

Tools:

* Spark plug socket (or a 5/8-inch socket)

* Ratchet

* Spark plug gapper

* New spark plugs

Instructions:

1. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Remove the spark plug wires by gently pulling them off of the spark plugs. If the wires are stuck, you can use a pair of pliers to gently pry them off.

4. Use the spark plug socket and ratchet to loosen and remove the spark plugs.

5. Carefully remove the old spark plugs from the socket. Be careful not to drop them.

6. Measure the gap of the new spark plugs and adjust them if necessary. The correct gap should be specified in your owner's manual.

7. Screw the new spark plugs into the cylinder head by hand until they are snug.

8. Use the ratchet and spark plug socket to tighten the spark plugs until they are snug. Do not over-tighten the spark plugs.

9. Re-install the spark plug wires.

10. Re-connect the negative battery cable.

Tips:

* It is important to use the correct spark plug for your vehicle. Check your owner's manual for the recommended spark plug type.

* If you don't have a spark plug socket, you can use a 5/8-inch socket.

* Be careful not to drop the spark plugs.

* Do not over-tighten the spark plugs.
