Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
Engage the parking brake.
Locate the backup light switch. It is usually located on the top of the transmission near the rear of the engine compartment.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch by pressing on the release tab and pulling it straight up.
Use a wrench to loosen the switch until it comes off.
Remove the old O-ring from the switch and discard it.
Apply a thin coat of transmission fluid to the new O-ring and place it on the new switch.
Screw the new switch into place and tighten it with a wrench.
Reconnect the electrical connector to the switch.
Test the backup lights by shifting into reverse gear.
If the backup lights do not come on, check the electrical connection to the switch and the fuse that controls the backup lights.

Make sure you have the correct size wrench for the job.
Do not overtighten the switch.
