New owners in Illinois generally have 30 days after buying a vehicle to register it at their local Secretary of State’s Office with proof of the following:
- Completed Application for Vehicle Title (VSD 190),
- Original title;
- Vehicle’s odometer disclosure
- Sales tax
- Proof of Vehicle Inspection if applicable;
-$151 registration fee
