It is illegal in New South Wales, Australia, for provisional plate drivers to operate a turbo-charged vehicle. Learner and provisional drivers are not permitted to operate vehicles that have been modified or customised to increase their performance. This includes vehicles that have had turbochargers, superchargers or nitrous oxide systems installed.
Additionally, provisional plate drivers must follow all other road rules and regulations while driving, such as displaying P-plates, adhering to speed limits and restrictions imposed on their licence, and not using a mobile phone while driving.
