1. Purchase an AC recharge kit that is compatible with your vehicle. The kit should include a can of refrigerant, a refrigerant hose, and a pressure gauge.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Locate the low-pressure port on the air conditioning system. It is usually located on the side of the compressor or near the evaporator.
4. Attach the refrigerant hose to the low-pressure port.
5. Start the engine and turn on the air conditioning to the highest setting.
6. Slowly open the refrigerant can and allow the refrigerant to flow into the system.
7. Monitor the pressure gauge on the refrigerant hose. The pressure should not exceed the maximum specified in the vehicle's owner's manual.
8. Once the pressure gauge reaches the desired level, close the refrigerant can and disconnect the refrigerant hose.
9. Turn off the engine and wait for a few minutes.
10. Start the engine and verify that the air conditioning is working properly.
