* Step 1: Tighten the cylinder head bolts to 40 Nm (29 lb-ft) in the sequence shown in the diagram.
* Step 2: Tighten the cylinder head bolts to 65 Nm (48 lb-ft) in the same sequence.
* Step 3: Tighten the cylinder head bolts to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft) in the same sequence.
Camshaft Bolts
* Step 1: Tighten the camshaft bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) in the sequence shown in the diagram.
* Step 2: Tighten the camshaft bolts to 40 Nm (29 lb-ft) in the same sequence.
Additional Notes
* Be sure to use a new cylinder head gasket when reassembling the engine.
* The cylinder head bolts must be replaced if they have been stretched.
* The camshaft bolts must be replaced if they have been damaged.
