How do you change the heater core on 1997 range rover?

Tools & Materials:

- Phillips head screwdriver

- Flat head screwdriver

- Long, thin pliers

- New heater core

- Anti-freeze

- Coolant

- Funnel

Instructions:

1. Turn off the engine: Allow it to cool down completely.

2. Disconnect the battery.

3. Locate the heater core inlet and outlet hoses: These hoses are usually located on the firewall, near the engine. Follow them to the heater core, which is usually located under the dashboard.

4. Remove the heater core inlet and outlet hoses: Loosen the clamp on each hose and then remove the hose from the heater core.

5. Remove the heater core mounting bolts: There are usually two or three bolts that hold the heater core in place. Remove these bolts and then carefully remove the heater core from the vehicle.

6. Install the new heater core: Place the new heater core into position and then re-install the heater core mounting bolts. Tighten these bolts securely.

7. Re-attach the heater core inlet and outlet hoses: Re-attach the heater core inlet and outlet hoses to the heater core. Tighten the clamps on these hoses securely.

8. Refill the coolant: Add coolant to the vehicle's cooling system until it is full. If needed, refer to the vehicle owner's manual for specific instructions on how to add coolant.

9. Turn on the engine and check for leaks: Start the engine and then let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks from the heater core inlet and outlet hoses.

10. Re-connect battery and verify correct operation.
