1. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
2. Press and hold the trip reset button on the dashboard until "Service" appears in the display.
3. While continuing to hold the trip reset button, turn the ignition off.
4. Release the trip reset button.
5. Turn the ignition back on. The Service Required message should now be cleared.
If the service required light does not reset, you may need to take your car to a Smart Car dealership or authorized service center to have it reset.
