1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Raise the vehicle and support it on jack stands.
3. Remove the right front wheel.
4. Remove the plastic splash shield from beneath the engine.
5. Locate the speed sensor on the transmission case. It is a small, cylindrical sensor with a single electrical connector.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the speed sensor.
7. Use a wrench to loosen the mounting bolt that holds the speed sensor in place.
8. Remove the speed sensor from the transmission case.
9. Clean the surface of the transmission case where the speed sensor mounts.
10. Apply a small amount of sealant to the threads of the new speed sensor.
11. Screw the new speed sensor into the transmission case.
12. Tighten the mounting bolt to 10 ft-lbs.
13. Reconnect the electrical connector to the speed sensor.
14. Replace the plastic splash shield.
15. Replace the right front wheel.
16. Lower the vehicle and reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
