The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) F-15 Eagle is a twin-engine, all-weather tactical fighter aircraft designed by McDonnell Douglas for the United States Air Force. The F-15 is primarily an air superiority fighter, but also includes ground attack and electronic warfare in its mission profile. It is among the most successful modern fighters, with over 100 victories and no losses in aerial combat.
The F-15 has a maximum speed of Mach 2.5 (1,650 mph, 2,655 km/h) at sea level and Mach 3.0 (1,965 mph, 3,160 km/h) at high altitude.
