1. Shut off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.
2. Locate the spark plug. It is usually located on the right side of the engine, just above the cylinder head.
3. Remove the spark plug cap. Grip the spark plug cap with your fingers and pull it straight up to remove it.
4. Use a spark plug wrench to loosen the spark plug. Place the spark plug wrench over the spark plug and turn it counterclockwise to loosen it. Be careful not to drop the spark plug into the cylinder head.
5. Remove the spark plug from the cylinder head. Once the spark plug is loosened, you can use your fingers to turn it out of the cylinder head.
6. Inspect the spark plug. Look at the electrode of the spark plug and check for signs of wear or damage. If the electrode is worn or damaged, you will need to replace the spark plug.
7. Reinstall the spark plug. If the spark plug is still good, you can reinstall it by screwing it back into the cylinder head. Use the spark plug wrench to tighten the spark plug until it is snug.
8. Reinstall the spark plug cap. Push the spark plug cap back onto the spark plug until it clicks into place.
