1. Turn off the fuel petcock. This is located on the right side of the tank, near the bottom. Turn it to the "off" position.
2. Disconnect the fuel line. There are two fuel lines connected to the tank, one on each side. Use a wrench to loosen the clamps on the fuel lines and then pull the lines off of the tank.
3. Remove the seat. The seat is held in place by two bolts at the front and a latch at the back. Remove the bolts and lift the seat up and off of the bike.
4. Remove the tank. The tank is held in place by four bolts, two at the front and two at the back. Remove the bolts and lift the tank up and off of the bike.
Be sure to drain any remaining fuel from the tank before you remove it. You can do this by opening the fuel petcock and letting the fuel drain out into a container.
