1. Find the ignition coil. The ignition coil is a small, black component located on the left side of the engine. It is usually mounted near the spark plug.
2. Remove the screws that hold the ignition coil in place. There are usually two screws that hold the ignition coil in place. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws.
3. Pull the ignition coil out of the engine. Be careful not to drop the ignition coil.
4. Inspect the ignition coil for damage. Look for any cracks or damage to the ignition coil. If the ignition coil is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
5. Test the ignition coil. You can test the ignition coil by using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to Ohms (Ω). Place one probe of the multimeter on the positive terminal of the ignition coil and the other probe on the negative terminal. The resistance should be between 0.5 and 1.0 Ohms. If the resistance is not within this range, the ignition coil will need to be replaced.
6. Reinstall the ignition coil. If the ignition coil is not damaged, you can reinstall it by reversing the steps that you took to remove it. Be sure to tighten the screws that hold the ignition coil in place.
