Where do you check the crankcase oil in a 1987 250 Polaris Trail boss?

The 1987 250 Polaris Trail Boss does not have a crankcase oil dipstick. Instead, the oil level is checked by removing the oil fill plug on the right side of the engine and looking inside. The oil level should be between the top of the transmission gears and the bottom of the filler plug hole.
