1. Loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheel. Do not remove the lug nuts completely.
2. Raise the rear of the ATV with a jack. Support it safely on jack stands.
3. Remove the lug nuts and the rear wheel.
4. Remove the cotter pin that holds the castle nut in place.
5. Use a wrench to loosen the castle nut. Do not remove the castle nut completely.
6. Pull the brake drum off of the hub. You may need to use a pry bar to help you remove the brake drum.
7. Inspect the brake drum for wear or damage. If the brake drum is worn or damaged, it will need to be replaced.
8. Reassemble the rear brake drum. Install the castle nut, cotter pin, wheel, and lug nuts. Tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Here are some additional tips for removing a rear brake drum:
* If the castle nut is difficult to loosen, you can use a penetrating oil to loosen it up.
* Be careful not to damage the brake drum when removing it.
* If you are replacing the brake drum, make sure to install the new brake drum correctly.
