What are the four strokes of a four-stroke cycle engine?

1. Intake stroke: The piston moves down in the cylinder, creating a vacuum that draws air and fuel (or just air, in the case of a diesel engine) into the cylinder through the intake valve.

2. Compression stroke: The piston moves up in the cylinder, compressing the air and fuel mixture (or just air, in the case of a diesel engine).

3. Power stroke: The spark plug ignites the air and fuel mixture (or the heat of compression ignites the diesel fuel), causing it to expand rapidly and drive the piston down in the cylinder.

4. Exhaust stroke: The piston moves up in the cylinder, expelling the exhaust gases through the exhaust valve.
