1. Locate the safety switch. The safety switch typically disconnects the power from the engine to the starter solenoid when the rider leaves the seat. Locate the safety switch, and bypass the switch by connecting the two wires together.
2. Touch a screwdriver across the starter terminals. After connecting the safety switch, you will need to engage the starter solenoid to start the engine. This can be done by using a screwdriver to connect the positive terminal of the starter solenoid to the terminal that is connected to the ignition coil.
3. Start the engine. Once you have bypassed the starter solenoid, you can start the engine by turning the key to the "Start" position. If the engine starts, you should remove the screwdriver and reconnect the safety switch.
