1. Park your vehicle on a level surface.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Engage the parking brake.
4. If you can’t crawl under your car, you’ll need to raise it with ramps and a chock or a jack and jack stands.
5. Locate the oil drain plug. It’s a 17mm bolt located on the bottom of the oil pan, near the front of the engine.
6. Place an oil catch pan under the oil drain plug.
7. Use a wrench to loosen the oil drain plug.
8. Allow the oil to drain completely. This may take a few minutes.
9. Once the oil has drained, replace the oil drain plug.
10. Lower your vehicle if you raised it.
11. Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes. This will circulate new oil throughout the engine.
12. Check the oil level using the oil dipstick. Add oil if necessary.
