- Below and slightly behind (rearward of) the fuel tank.
- Held by a single bolt with a 14 mm head into a rubber coupling with a snap-ring retaining the other side.
- The electrical lead is also on this side of the pump and it should be detached before proceeding.
- The fuel line, which is connected near the top, is detached after the engine begins running.
- While the fuel pump can sometimes be replaced without taking the gas tank completely off the frame by removing the rear mounting bolt and loosening the front bolt allowing it to tilt, sometimes it is easier just to remove the tank completely for easier access to the fuel pump.
