-Look in the owner's manual and search for the manufacturer, model, and model year.
- You can also check your four wheeler's title. The year of manufacture is usually listed in the title's "Vehicle Description" section.
Option 2: Check VIN Number
-Locate the 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on your vehicle.
The VIN is usually stamped onto a metal plate on the frame of the four wheeler, near the steering column.
- Decode the VIN to find the model year.
The 10th digit of the VIN is the model year code.
Here is a list of model year codes:
• A–1980, B–1981, C–1982, D–1983, E–1984
• F–1985, G–1986, H–1987, J–1988, K–1989
• L–1990, M–1991, N–1992, P–1993, R–1994
• S–1995, T–1996, V–1997, W–1998, X–1999
• Y–2000, 1–2001, 2–2002, 3–2003, 4–2004
• 5–2005, 6–2006, 7–2007, 8–2008, 9–2009
• D–2010, E–2011, F–2012, G–2013, H–2014
• I–2015, J–2016, K–2017, L–2018, M–2019
• N–2020, P–2021, R–2022, S–2023, T–2024
For example:
If the 10th digit of the VIN is "V," the four-wheeler was manufactured in 1997.
Option 3: Check Sticker on Frame
Most four-wheelers have a sticker attached to the frame somewhere near the VIN (usually under the seat or gas tank) that will provide basic specification information including year of manufacture.
