The normal operating temperature for a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 4.3L engine, as indicated on the gauge, should be slightly below halfway between the "C" (cold) and "H" (hot) marks. It's not precisely at the midpoint, but rather a bit closer to the "C." Think roughly in the
middle to slightly below middle range of the gauge.
