How can you tell if your Chevy v6 4.3 engine is cpi or tbi?

The easiest way to tell if your Chevy 4.3L V6 is CPI (Central Port Injection) or TBI (Throttle Body Injection) is to look at the intake manifold.

* TBI: You'll see a single large throttle body on top of the intake manifold. The fuel injectors are located *inside* the throttle body. It's a very simple, identifiable setup.

* CPI: You won't see a large throttle body sitting on top. Instead, you'll see individual fuel injectors mounted directly into the intake manifold, one for each intake port (hence "Central Port Injection"). There will still be a throttle body, but it's integrated into the intake manifold and much smaller than a TBI unit.

Essentially, if it looks like a single large barrel on top of the intake, it's TBI. If it's got individual injectors spraying into the ports, it's CPI. You should be able to clearly see the difference just by looking.
