On a 1975 L82 Corvette HEI distributor, the #1 plug wire terminal is located at the front of the distributor cap. Think of the distributor as being oriented as it sits in the engine. The #1 cylinder is at the front of the engine. The wire from the #1 spark plug connects to the terminal directly in line with that front position.
