This is usually near the top of the engine, on a relatively flat surface, and will clearly say "3.8L" or "3.0L". It might be cast into the metal, and therefore may require cleaning to be easily visible.
* Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): Your VIN contains information about your vehicle's specifications, including the engine. You can decode your VIN using online tools or by contacting a Ford dealership. However, visual inspection is quicker and more direct.
* Owner's Manual: Your owner's manual should specify the engine size.
While other methods exist, the direct visual identification on the engine block is the most reliable and fastest way.
