The engine coolant reservoir on a Ford Taurus or Sable should be filled to the
COLD fill line. There is usually a "MIN" and a "MAX" line, or markings indicating "COLD" and "HOT." The coolant level should be between these marks when the engine is cold. Never fill it to the top.
If you only see one line, it's the maximum fill line and you should fill to that level when the engine is cold. Check your owner's manual for specifics as it will show you exactly where these lines are located on your particular vehicle.
