Pressing the OD OFF button forces the transmission to stay in a lower gear range. This is useful for:
* Towing or hauling: Provides more power for climbing hills or accelerating with a heavy load.
* Mountain driving: Maintains engine speed and power for better control on steep inclines.
* Engine braking: Helps slow the vehicle down on steep descents without relying solely on the brakes.
Essentially, it gives you more power and engine braking at the cost of slightly reduced fuel economy. You should only use it when needed, and re-engage overdrive when driving on level ground at highway speeds.
