To find it:
1. Consult your owner's manual: The best place to start is the owner's manual. It will show you the exact location of the transmission dipstick.
2. Look near the transmission: The transmission is located in the engine bay, under the vehicle. Get under the truck (safely supported on jack stands) and look along the passenger side near the transmission. The dipstick will usually have a handle or ring you can pull out.
3. It's not a filler tube in the traditional sense: There's no easily-visible tube to add transmission fluid. You add fluid through the dipstick tube itself, but only to check the level; you shouldn't just fill it up to the top. If you need to add fluid, you'll often have to add it through a specific port (if that port exists on your particular transmission model; some only allow fluid changes by dropping the pan).
Important: If you are unsure how to check your transmission fluid level or add fluid, take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic. Incorrect transmission fluid levels can cause significant damage to your transmission.
