The oil drain plug on a Jeep Patriot is a fairly standard looking drain plug. It's typically a
hexagonal (six-sided) bolt made of steel. It's located on the
bottom of the oil pan, which is underneath the engine. It's usually fairly straightforward to locate once you're underneath the vehicle. You'll likely need a
13mm or 14mm wrench (check your owner's manual to be sure) to remove it.
It might have a slightly magnetic tip to help attract metal shavings from the oil, but that's not always the case. It won't have any particularly distinctive markings unless it's been replaced with an aftermarket plug. Essentially, it looks like a common drain plug you'd find on many cars.
