* Bed Light (if equipped): Some 1998 Rangers had an optional bed light. This light is usually activated by a switch located either inside the cab, near the dome light switch, or sometimes even integrated into the tailgate itself. Look for a small switch labeled "bed light" or a similar designation. If you can't find a switch, it's possible your truck wasn't equipped with this feature.
* Interior Dome Light: The dome light illuminates the entire cab. Its switch is usually located on the overhead console, often near the sunroof controls (if equipped). There may be different settings for "on," "off," or "door-activated." To use it as "cargo" lighting, you'd simply need to open the tailgate or rear door and ensure the light turns on.
If you can't find either a bed light switch or a relevant dome light option, your truck may not have a readily accessible light for illuminating the bed. You might need to install an aftermarket bed light.
