I have a 92 Chevy Silverado and 95 Cheyenne both the 5.7 liter v8s i was thinking about switching them out what is difference horsepower etc?

The horsepower and torque figures for the 5.7L V8s in your 1992 Silverado and 1995 Cheyenne will vary slightly depending on the exact trim level and options. However, you won't find a significant difference in raw power between the two engines. Both were variations of the small-block Chevy V8, and the changes between 1992 and 1995 for this engine were largely refinements rather than major overhauls resulting in dramatic power increases.

You're unlikely to see a noticeable horsepower or torque boost simply by swapping the engines. Any differences would likely be within the margin of error for dynamometer testing and easily overshadowed by factors like maintenance, air intake, exhaust, and even the condition of each specific engine.

Instead of focusing on a swap for horsepower gains, consider these points:

* Engine condition: The condition of your existing engines is far more important than the year of manufacture. A well-maintained 1992 engine might outperform a neglected 1995 engine.

* Maintenance history: Before swapping, have both engines thoroughly inspected to identify any potential issues. A rebuild or major repair on one might be more cost-effective than a swap.

* Cost and effort: Engine swaps are significant undertakings, requiring considerable time, labor, and potentially specialized tools. The costs can easily outweigh any marginal horsepower gains.

In short, swapping these engines is unlikely to provide a noticeable performance boost and would be a very expensive and time-consuming project without a compelling mechanical reason (like a blown engine). Focus on properly maintaining and tuning your existing engine. If you want more power, consider modifications like a performance intake, exhaust, and tuning, which would be far more cost-effective.
