The camshaft on a 1997 Chrysler Cirrus LX V6 2.5L is located in the cylinder head. Since it's a V6, it will have two cylinder heads, and therefore two camshafts, one for each bank of cylinders. They're positioned high in the engine, under the valve covers. You'll need to remove the valve covers to see them.
