2. Variable-reluctance sensor (VAF sensor, or sometimes called a vane-type airflow sensor): This type uses a spinning vane that is deflected by the incoming airflow. The angle of deflection is measured using a magnetic sensor, and this is used to calculate the volumetric airflow rate.
