Who invented the GTO?

The GTO, as in the Pontiac GTO, wasn't invented by a single person but rather resulted from a confluence of decisions within Pontiac. While no single individual can claim sole credit, John DeLorean is most often associated with its creation. He championed the idea of a high-performance intermediate car within Pontiac, pushing the project forward despite internal resistance. While others contributed to the design and engineering, DeLorean's vision and drive are largely credited with bringing the GTO to market.
