The camshaft position sensor (CMP sensor) on a Chevrolet 4.8L engine is located on the
passenger side of the engine, near the front of the cylinder head. It's usually mounted fairly close to the camshaft sprocket and will be a fairly small sensor with a single wire connector. It might be held in place with a single bolt.
